The AIDS Society of the Philippines (ASP) has received another grant from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) to implement activities on HIV and AIDS under the project Global Fund Transitional Funding Mechanism-New Funding Model-Interim Reprogramming Request (GF TFM-NFM-IRR) with project title “Sustaining the Gains of Essential Program Services of the Round 6 HIV Grant in the Philippines.” This project will run from August 2013-December 2015 and will be implemented by ASP as Sub-recipient for Prevention activities, in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH) as Principal Recipient, Positive Action Foundation, Inc. (PAFPI) as Sub-recipient for Treatment Services and The Love Yourself as Sub-subrecipient.
The general goal of this project is to increase HIV case detection while improving treatment rate and creating systematic management of HIV and AIDS cases in the Philippines.
The project covers original project sites from the Round 6; Angeles City, Quezon City, Manila City, Pasay City, Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro City, Davao City and additional sites; Caloocan City, Pasig City, Marikina City, Mandaue and Danao City (both from Cebu).
The ASP and its partner agencies under the project work with the local government units, the private sector and other health-care organizations towards HIV and AIDS prevention and control.
